The Colorado Women’s Education Foundation’s (CWEF) mission is to invest in women who are transforming their lives through education…for themselves, their families, and their communities.
CWEF is celebrating its 40th anniversary as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing scholarships to high-achieving Colorado women of non-traditional student age working for economic self-sufficiency through education. Since the recipients are older, they may not be eligible for other grant or scholarship programs. These women are often single—having been widowed, divorced, or abandoned—finding themselves struggling to support themselves and their families. CWEF depends entirely on donations and wants to do more to empower women. Since its inception, CWEF has provided over 500 women with scholarships totaling more than $400,000.
